We aspire for strong collaboration with rescue partners and other shelters to save animal lives throughout our community. San Diego Humane Society cares for companion animals at four campuses located in San Diego, El Cajon, Escondido and Oceanside.
Our team is dedicated to working with our colleagues in the rescue community. We welcome all inquiries from our rescue partners and invite your organization to become an official Rescue Partner with SDHS, which offers several benefits. #RescueWithSDHS

San Diego Humane Society transferred in nearly 1400 animals from other animal shelters in the last two years, so we realize the importance of maintaining clear, consistent communication and protocols.
We work toward continuous improvement on best ways to communicate and coordinate animal transfers between us and our animal welfare colleagues, always striving to find the best possible solutions for all animals.
