Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Diane Gilabert brings with her 30 years of accounting experience, primarily at top international public accounting firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers and BDO, where she achieved the role of tax partner. In 2009, Gilabert founded a thriving tax consulting practice focused on assisting local CPA firms with the tax aspects of business transactions, multi-state, and partnership tax issues.
Gilabert first became involved with San Diego Humane Society in 1996 as a member of the Finance Committee, which oversees the financial management and investments on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Gilabert took on increased levels of leadership over the following 20 years, including serving as Chair of the Finance Committee, Chair of the Board Governance Committee, and twice as Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Gilabert holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with special emphasis in Finance and Accounting, and a Bachelor’s degree in Managerial Studies and Economics, both from Rice University in Houston, Texas. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants & California Society of CPAs.
In addition to 20 years of leadership service on the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee for San Diego Humane Society, Gilabert also supports the organization as a donor and adopter. She currently lives in Point Loma with her significant other, John O’Neill, and two cats, Puma and Nike – both alums of San Diego Humane Society’s Kitten Nursery!
