The work San Diego Humane Society accomplishes would not be possible without the dedication of volunteers.
We have five campus locations, employ over 600 staff and rely on more than 5,000 volunteers for their time, love and support. Compassionate, dedicated volunteers are essential to our programs and services across the organization, and it is important to us that volunteering be a meaningful experience for everyone who participates.
We strive to foster a Culture of Care that values Compassion, Courage, Impact, Integrity and Inclusion. We are proud that our volunteers are a part of this culture and are with us on this journey to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the organization and for the community we serve.
We recruit new volunteers on an as needed basis giving us time to meet the hundreds of people who express interest and make sure they are placed in an appropriate role and properly trained before they begin.
