Trixie's Story
Adopted from San Diego Campus
Hi,
We adopted 8 year old Trixie (fka Beatrice) on March 6th this year. We were planning to get a much younger dog, but she just drew us in with her enthusiastic tail stub wagging and smile. Getting an older dog has had so many benefits for us (we are now in our 50’s)…she’s content to just chill out with us (when not on her walks or playing at the dog park), and will sit or lay quietly and just enjoy her belly rubs and kisses. We didn’t think we could love another dog so much after losing our last 2 furry babies (13 and 15 years old, and from the SDHS) about a year ago.
Everyone loves Trixie and she enjoys being with people as much as other dogs. She’s got a playful personality and will run figure 8’s in the yard then drop and roll when the mood strikes her. She constantly makes us laugh. Besides her constant tail stub wagging, one of our favorite things is how she sleeps with her tongue sticking out. As soon as she starts getting sleepy at night, the tongue starts poking out. I’ve attached a few pictures of her. They don’t do her justice since I’m not a great photographer.
Just wanted to let you know, you gave us a wonderful gift.
Sincerely,
Alicia & Wayne
