San Diego Humane Society named a Top Workplace for a fifth year

San Diego Humane Society has been recognized as a Top Workplace by The San Diego Union Tribune for a fifth year — a distinction given to only 39 organizations with 500 or more employees in San Diego! What makes this award from The San Diego Union-Tribune even more meaningful is that it comes directly from the voices of our employees through an annual anonymous survey.

In the 2025 survey, staff reported feeling respected and supported, that San Diego Humane Society operates by strong values and that their work gives them a sense of purpose. This award, and the specific areas that staff felt closely aligned with our culture, demonstrate our commitment to upholding excellence in everything we do.

Driven by our love for animals and making our community a better place, our team embodies compassion, kindness and respect — and we are so proud to be home to employees who put these values at the forefront of their lifesaving work.
