SAN DIEGO — San Diego Humane Society is recognizing Coyote Awareness Week by encouraging residents to learn more about the role coyotes play in the ecosystem and how communities can safely coexist with these wild neighbors. Established by Project Coyote, this week is perfectly timed to coincide with coyote mating and pupping season (March-May), when coyotes are more active in foraging for food and can be more visible to humans.
