Wake Up with Wildlife: All About Raptors
San Diego is a hotbed of wildlife. Our unique bioclimatic zones and topography support a vast array of mammals, birds and reptiles. But San Diego also lies along the Pacific flyway which means it is the temporary home of an even wider assortment of birds as they pass overhead twice a year. While most people don't think about raptors as migratory birds, in fact, many species of raptors do migrate. Join Project Wildlife volunteer Andy Schucker for this virtual class as he focuses on those amazing birds that have captivated our imagination and inspired man to fly. Find out which raptor species call San Diego home year round and those who just play tourist. Discover how to tell the difference between hawks, falcons, owls and vultures and meet some of Project Wildlife's raptor animal ambassadors.
