San Diego Humane Society Wins a 2022 Top Workplace Award
SAN DIEGO (Nov. 21, 2022) — San Diego Humane Society has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2022 honor by The San Diego Union Tribune in the large companies category. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization, including: alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
With more than 600 employees, San Diego Humane Society rated higher than the national average for metrics such as employees feeling like they are part of something meaningful. “We have extremely dedicated employees who save lives every single day and know the positive impact they have, motivating them to do their best,” said San Diego Humane Society Vice President of Employee Engagement Tina Nguyen. “The only way we can serve the people of our community and care for more than 40,000 animals each year, is to make sure our employees are our top priority.”
“To win a Top Workplaces award during one of the toughest years in our organization’s history, is an honor,” said Gary Weitzman, president and CEO of San Diego Humane Society. “Just like the rest of the world, we’ve had to navigate change. But our focus on compassion, integrity and inclusion for every member on our team has never wavered.”
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
