Pet Talk: Clicker Training for Cats
Have you ever wanted to teach your cat some fun new behaviors like high five or to come when called? Perhaps you would like to impress your friends and family during your next group Zoom call and you'd love to show them how smart your cat is because he sits when you ask him to. Or maybe you have been looking for ways to set your foster kitty apart from all of the other adoptable cats on your rescue's website - nothing says "Adopt me!" like a cat who will come running when called, then jump onto a stool and sit down for a high five. You know you'd want to adopt that cat too!
Alternatively, maybe your cat has developed an annoying tendency to "act up" while you're working, knocking paperwork off your desk because you're no longer commuting to an office and the new routine is both exciting and confusing for your furry friend. Clicker training is a fantastic way to communicate with your cat and to prevent boredom. And let's face it, YOU are probably dealing with some boredom these days too, and what better way to combat stress and loneliness than to learn a new skill with your favorite person - your cat!
