Jessica has an extensive background in leading shelter operations and embodies San Diego Humane Society’s culture of care and compassion.
Jessica oversees the operations at our San Diego, El Cajon, Escondido and Oceanside campuses, ensuring more than 40,000 animals admitted to our shelters each year receive the high-quality care they deserve. Her leadership includes oversight of our innovative and nationally leading programs, including our Behavior & Training, Rescue, Foster, Kitten Nursery, Humane Law Enforcement, Veterinary Medicine and Project Wildlife programs.
Prior to joining San Diego Humane Society, Jessica worked for a decade in a private veterinary medicine practice in Arizona, where she eventually became the hospital’s manager. Since returning to her hometown of San Diego in 2011 to serve as the veterinary hospital administrator at San Diego Humane Society, she has held various positions within the organization, including senior director of the San Diego Campus and vice president of animal welfare.
Jessica graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She lives with her husband and two dogs: Blitz, a German shepherd mix adopted from a local rescue, and Cedar, a black Labrador mix and San Diego Humane Society alum.
